Matt and Maddie met during Covid in March 2021 at Fidelity Investments. The first two in the Zoom room on their first team call, instead of awkwardly sitting in silence like Matt would typically do, Maddie kicked off the conversation and by the time the others joined, the two of them were cracking up and delaying the start of the meeting. From taking over the whole conversation in future meetings, to sending each other Microsoft Teams messages about the wild things they heard during the day, they became fast friends. Months later, the office opened up for different small groups each week, and they were put in the same group. As Matt was looking around for somewhere to sit, he saw a familiar face in Maddie (who somehow showed up earlier than him) and plopped into the chair right next to her. As time marched on the friendship grew from side-by-side desks and countless Zoom calls to their friend groups meeting up at bars and concerts. It was pretty obvious, but while Matt was pouring pounds of ketchup and mustard onto a hot dog at a concert, a friend of both of theirs finally got him to admit he had feelings for Maddie. After a few dates, they began officially dating December 8, 2022 after Matt took Maddie to an exhilarating white elephant work Christmas party.

After two and a half years of country concerts, rodeos, countless Avs/Buffs/Pios/Rockies games, friends' weddings, and of course laughs and talking trash daily to each other, Matt proposed in one of Maddie's favorite places in the world, Grand Lake, Colorado. Some of their best friends as well as family joined them at Maddie's parents cabin over the next two days to celebrate while sitting around the fire, feeding the neighbor's horses, and per usual, playing a few drinking games. It was a beautiful weekend and Matt and Maddie having the opportunity to be surrounded by some of their closest people on one of the biggest weekends of their lives was such a blessing that they wish they could repeat over and over again.

We can't put into words how excited we are to bring together all of our favorite people in Idaho Springs (and Blackhawk of course) in July to start our journey as a married couple. You all are the foundation of the people we were, are, and will become, and we cannot wait to share this day with you and begin this next chapter in our lives!
